No part of the cross that tops off the Tower of Jesus Christ is 3D printed. The ceramic component parts that make up the the cross were developed and produced by Ceramica Cumella, who provided the shaping, glazing, and firing of each tile through a highly specialized ceramic process.
The firing process required customised 3D-printed ceramic supports specifically designed to respond to the geometry and thermal behaviour of the ceramic parts, helping to control deformation and preserve the intended shape before final assembly.
The final piece of the cross was installed in February 2026 was blessed by Pope Leo XIV in June of the same year.
