The BeeBox is believed to be the first bumblebee nest box that has been scientifically developed.
The nest box is comprised of a light-proof chamber with a small narrow entrance pipe. Once buried beneath ground, the prototype dome-shaped nests are inhabited by queen bees seeking a safe place to establish a nest. With cameras already installed, the nest is left entirely undisturbed and the establishment of the hive can be monitored from day one.
